On behalf of the Arab Association of Urologists (AAU), it is my pleasure to invite you to the 7th congress of the AAU that will take place on November 1 to November 4, 2007 in Beirut-Lebanon. This congress represents the largest urological meeting in the region, and will be organized in association with major International Associations including the American Urological Association (AUA) and the European Association of Urology (EAU).

During this event, participants will have the opportunity to meet world leaders in the field and exchange ideas on major advances in urological surgery. The format will include state of the art lectures, symposia, oral presentations and posters. In addition, we will have courses and workshops to enhance the knowledge in specific entities and subspecialties. A prestigious faculty of over 30 international experts will discuss evidence-based management of commonly encountered urological problems and will allow interactive sessions with the audience.

The weather in November is very pleasant and allows for all kinds of sports including swimming and hiking. There will be a special social program on every day, with specialized tours before and after the Congress. This will allow our international and national participants to visit historical sites like Baalbeck, Bekaa Valley, Sheikh Mountain and the ancient coastal cities of Tripoli and Tyre. The city of Beirut is one of the most ancient in the area and boasts an excellent view over the Mediterranean Sea. Beirut; Mother of Law, known as Beritus Nutris Legum, housed the most famous provincial school of law in the Roman Empire. Other landmarks of Lebanon include the city of Byblos; the capital of Phoenicia, where the alphabet was founded and launched to the world. The cedar tree of the highest mountains of the Middle East, is the national emblem of Lebanon, and was used to build the Pyramids by the Pharaohs and the Temple of Solomon, several thousands years ago.

We hope to see you in Beirut in November of 2007,

Raja Khauli
